About this opportunity

Develop for Good, Bloomberg, CodeDay and Fast Forward have put together a founding cohort for nonprofits that want to turn a piece of their own software into a public open source tool. A selected organisation gets a team of eight trained college student developers for sixteen weeks, weekly mentorship from Bloomberg employee volunteers and open source guidance from CodeDay, and pays nothing for any of it.

What you'll do:

Bring a tool or project you are ready to open source, or an existing open source project you want support contributing to
Give about 2 to 3 hours a week for 16 weeks from a point of contact at your nonprofit
Work with the team to convert the tool to open source, build out its documentation, or contribute upstream

Develop for Good's standard 16-week batches carry a flat service fee of $1,000. This partnership cohort is explicitly free, so that figure does not apply here
