€250,000 The Next Move Sport Grant

  • Organization: adidas Foundation
  • Type: Grant
  • Location: Brazil, Colombia, Argentina
  • Deadline: October 4, 2026
  • Funding: Fully Funded

The adidas Foundation is putting EUR 2 million behind organisations in Brazil, Colombia and Argentina that use sport to tackle gender-based violence, discrimination, exclusion and harmful gender norms. Selected organisations receive EUR 150,000, EUR 200,000 or EUR 250,000 as general operating support, split evenly across three years, so the money funds your own organisational priorities rather than one prescribed project. At least eight organisations will be funded, and the call is timed to leave a legacy from the 2027 Women's World Cup, which Brazil hosts and Argentina and Colombia have qualified for. **What you get:** - EUR 150,000, EUR 200,000 or EUR 250,000 over three years, divided equally and paid in three annual instalments - General operating support rather than project funding, so you set your own organisational priorities each year and can move money between cost categories without prior approval - An indirect cost component of 20 percent of eligible direct costs for overheads, with no separate expenditure breakdown required for it - A three year partnership with the adidas Foundation, expected to start in March 2027 - A place in a Community of Practice with the other funded organisations, offered in Spanish and Portuguese where possible, with participation costs and staff time eligible under the grant **What you'll do:** - Submit a short Expression of Interest through an online form, covering an eligibility screening, questions about your organisation and its work, and document uploads - If shortlisted, complete a self assessment, submit a first year plan with an indicative budget, answer a small number of extra questions and take part in an interview - Pass due diligence on legal status, governance, financial management, safeguarding and integrity before funding is confirmed - Identify a small number of organisational priorities each year and report annually on activities, spending by category, reach data and photos or video with consent - Take part in bi-annual check-in calls and Community of Practice sessions, roughly five hours a month **Key dates:** - Call launched and Expression of Interest window opened 7 September 2026 - Information webinar 21 September 2026, 11:00 AM BRT / 4:00 PM CEST - Expression of Interest deadline 4 October 2026, 11:59 PM BRT. The apply box on the same page instead says 11:00 AM BRT, so submit in the morning to be safe - Screening and shortlisting through October 2026, with all applicants told the outcome by the end of October - Full application, interviews and submissions for shortlisted organisations until mid November 2026 - Review and final selection by mid December 2026, then due diligence December 2026 to January 2027 and contracting January to February 2027 - Grant start and first disbursement March 2027 **More information:** - The full eligibility list, funding structure, exclusions and due diligence requirements are in The Next Move Funding Guidelines, a 20 page PDF linked from the programme page - Questions go through a dedicated question form. The Foundation does not reply individually, and instead groups questions into a live FAQ published after the 21 September webinar - English is the working language at every stage, including the application, supporting documents, interview and the partnership itself. Unofficial translations of documents are accepted at Expression of Interest stage - One application per organisation, focused on one country of implementation. Multi-country applications are not accepted

Good to know

  • +EUR 150,000, 200,000 or 250,000 over three years as general operating support, which is unusually flexible.
  • +At least eight organisations will be funded from a EUR 2 million pool.
  • +Free to apply, and the first stage is an expression of interest rather than a full proposal.
  • +Run by the adidas Foundation, and the full funding guidelines are published before you start.
  • +It backs work using sport to tackle gender-based violence, discrimination and exclusion.

Worth checking yourself

  • !The adidas Foundation states two different closing times on the same page: 11:00 in the morning Brasilia time, and 23:59. Treat 11:00 on 4 October as your deadline and you are safe either way.
  • !Registered non-profits only, operating at least two years, with annual income between EUR 100,000 and EUR 2.5 million. Genuinely small grassroots groups fall below that floor.
  • !Brazil, Colombia and Argentina only, one country per application, and no multi-country applications.
  • !Everything is in English, at every stage, across three Spanish and Portuguese speaking countries.
  • !The money does not arrive until March 2027.
