The City of Miami is one of 300 cities in Bloomberg Philanthropies' Youth Climate Action Fund, and it has $40,000 to give away as microgrants of $1,000 to $5,000. Good to know

+Microgrants of $1,000 to $5,000 out of a $40,000 city pot, for projects on heat, flooding and waste
+You do not have to be a City of Miami resident. Their FAQ says so directly
+Your team needs no legal status of any kind. Two people aged 15 to 24 is enough
+Free to apply, and the city publishes eight pre-approved sponsor organisations you can approach
+Run by the City of Miami under Bloomberg Philanthropies, so the money is municipal and the process is public

Worth checking yourself

!Your project must sit inside City of Miami limits. Their FAQ is blunt about it: not the county, not the broader metro area. Coral Gables, Hialeah and most of Miami-Dade are outside the boundary
!Use the city's own address checker before you plan anything, because the city line is not where most people assume
!A separate Project Sponsor organisation holds and disburses the money. You approach them directly, and the city office running the programme cannot be your sponsor
!Closes 2 October at 11:59pm Eastern
!Their FAQ gives a final reporting date of April 2026, which is in the past and is a typo on their page
