The Martin Roth-Initiative moves at-risk artists and cultural practitioners to safety at a host organisation in Germany, on a monthly scholarship that can run up to 15 months. It is jointly run by ifa and the Goethe-Institut. The application is submitted in tandem: you apply, and a German host organisation applies alongside you. **What you get:** - A monthly scholarship for the duration of the stay - Individual support payments covering things like insurance, psychosocial support, language courses and training - Support through the visa process - Counselling from the MRI, plus training on safety, sensitive public relations and psychosocial support - Networking and exchange with other scholarship holders and host organisations - Funding for extra personnel at your host organisation so they can properly support you **What you'll do:** - Continue your artistic or cultural work in a safe environment at a German host organisation - Work closely with that host organisation, which provides supervision and professional support - Find and agree your own host organisation before applying, since MRI does not match you with one - Email apply@mri-application.de to get access to the application platform, which both you and your host organisation need separate accounts for - Submit an artist application while your host organisation submits its own application and budget, which it must also sign and send by post - Engage with the local cultural scene and civil society during the residency
