Lund University Centre for Sustainability Studies is recruiting a single PhD candidate on a four-year salaried contract. The research sits inside a FORMAS-funded project on how financial actors try to impose an orderly transition away from fossil fuels. This is employment, not a tuition scholarship: you are paid a monthly salary by the university for the full four years. What you get: ➤ A monthly salary from Lund University for the four years of the doctorate ➤ A full-time employed doctoral position, 100 per cent, regulated by the Swedish Higher Education Ordinance ➤ A place on the 240-credit Sustainability Science PhD programme ➤ Office space at LUCSUS and a spot in an international research community ➤ A time extension to your contract if you take on departmental duties What you'll do: ➤ Research how financial instruments such as transition bonds and green taxonomies try to impose order on energy transitions ➤ Do qualitative fieldwork with financial actors in Scandinavia, including interviews and observation at industry events ➤ Complete coursework, then write and publicly defend a doctoral thesis ➤ Possibly teach, up to 20 per cent of full-time hours ➤ Be based full-time in Lund, Sweden ➤ Collaborate with researchers across Sweden and Canada on the FORMAS-funded project
