L'Oréal USA and the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) give five women postdoctoral scientists in the United States $75,000 each to advance their research. Since 2003 the programme has funded more than 100 postdocs in the life and physical sciences, engineering, computer science and mathematics, and each fellow also commits time to supporting women and girls in science. **What you get:** - $75,000 to advance your research, paid to your institution in two instalments - Funds can cover your salary (with a justification), conferences, technicians and students, lab supplies, publication costs, equipment and computing - Up to 10 percent of the budget can go to a community outreach project, such as a science workshop for K-12 students - A place at the For Women in Science Awards Week in November 2027 **What you'll do:** - Submit a research plan of up to three pages, a one page candidate statement, a one page mentoring essay, a budget and three letters of recommendation - Carry out your proposed research over the one year award - Give at least 20 hours to supporting women and girls in science, such as mentoring, classroom visits, media or events, within a year of the November 2027 ceremony - Submit an interim report six months in, which releases the second half of the grant **Key dates:** - PhD conferred and postdoctoral position started by January 31, 2027 - Applications close February 12, 2027 at 5:00 PM Eastern - Awards Week and ceremony in November 2027, when funds become available **More information:** - Programme page, FAQ and budget template at aaas.org/programs/loreal-unesco-women-science-us - Questions to lorealusafellowships@aaas.org
