Siemens is empowering today’s students with the digital skill set and mindset to transform the workforce of tomorrow with the Immersive Design Challenge, a unique global challenge. Siemens has partnered with Sony to introduce Immersive Engineering by combining the Sony XR head-mounted display with Siemens’ Designcenter X NX software. The 2026 Immersive Design Challenge provides an opportunity for higher education students to learn about sustainable design, make an impact with their ideas, develop their technical and durable skills, and earn industry-recognized digital credentials to support their pathway to employment. Round 1: Submit idea via questionnaire. Round 2: Create prototype/visualization + short video using Siemens NX software. Finalists: Train with Siemens experts, present at Realize LIVE 2026. Benefits: - Free access to Siemens NX Academic Edition licenses for Round 2 teams - Training with Siemens experts - Digital badges, certificates, and microcredentials (e.g., Siemens Expedite – Skills for Competitions) - Career development opportunities (mock interviews, talent pipeline visibility) - Winning universities receive Sony XR headset + NX license
