The Ford Philanthropy Fellowship is a fully funded virtual fellowship for early-stage entrepreneurs and community leaders working on community development, education, and disaster preparedness across six priority countries. It is delivered by the Watson Institute, a globally recognised social-impact education organisation, in partnership with Ford Philanthropy (formerly Ford Fund), the philanthropic arm of Ford Motor Company. What you get: ➤ A community development stipend to support your venture during the program ➤ Entrepreneurship training tailored to early-stage social ventures ➤ One-on-one mentorship from Watson coaches ➤ Access to financial planning tools and templates ➤ Lifetime entry to the Watson alumni network of over 1,000 founders ➤ Fully funded virtual format (no travel required) What you'll do: ➤ Complete a five-day virtual immersive (September 8 to 17, 2026) ➤ Attend weekly Tuesday to Thursday morning workshops in Mountain Time ➤ Apply training directly to your existing venture ➤ Work alongside Watson coaches on your theory of change and impact metrics ➤ Engage with the cohort of founders across the six priority countries Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis after the priority deadline, with later applicants placed in subsequent cohorts. Strong applications come from founders with measurable impact data, a clear theory of change, and capacity to commit to the full schedule alongside running their existing work.

Who can apply

  • Aged 18 or older
  • Venture based in Germany, Mexico, South Africa, Thailand, Brazil, or Vietnam
  • Serve as a founder or community leader of the venture
  • Venture operating for 1 to 5 years with a team of fewer than 10 people
  • Focus area must be community development, education, or disaster preparedness
  • Demonstrate measurable impact and at least some funding secured to date
  • Commit to the full virtual immersive plus weekly workshops on the published schedule
