The EQUALS Global Partnership, founded by ITU, UN Women, the International Trade Centre, GSMA and United Nations University, runs the annual EQUALS in Tech Awards for initiatives that use technology to transform the lives of women and girls. The 2027 edition has three categories: emerging tech for inclusion, digital skills and leadership pathways, and safe and inclusive digital spaces. Who can apply

  • Open worldwide, to entities from all countries and regions
  • Eligible applicants: civil society and NGOs, government institutions, international organisations, academic and research institutions, private-sector entities, multi-stakeholder initiatives, social enterprises and entrepreneurial ventures
  • Each application must present one specific programme, initiative or project aligned with one of the three categories
  • The initiative must still be ongoing and not concluded at the time of application; older initiatives qualify if still running
  • Applications seeking recognition for an organisation as a whole are not eligible
  • Each application goes in one category only; submit separately for each initiative
  • Past finalists may apply again and should explain how the project has evolved
  • No fee to apply or nominate
