The Coexistence Consortium runs a two year programme in India for pairs of fellows working on human and wildlife coexistence, one from a conservation background and one from the landscape the project is about. Each fellow is paid a monthly stipend, and the pair receives fieldwork funding, an assigned mentor and a mandatory residential training block in Bengaluru. It is supported by the British Asian Trust, the Elephant Family and the Rainmatter Foundation, and hosted at the University of Trans-Disciplinary Health Sciences and Technology. **What you get:** - A stipend of INR 25,000 per month for each of the two fellows, for two years - Up to INR 2,50,000 per year in fieldwork funding for the project itself, separate from the stipend - A mentor assigned to the team for the full two years, matched to the project - A month and a half of in person interdisciplinary training at the TDU campus in Bengaluru - Return travel to the training covered, including 3rd AC rail and airfare where there is no direct rail link, plus accommodation and meals - A certificate of completion for teams that deliver their project output on time **What you'll do:** - Work full time for two years on a project that seeks to understand or foster coexistence between people and wildlife - Attend the full residential training from early November 2026, covering ecology, sociology, anthropology, art, ethnographic research basics and fieldwork skills - Collaborate as a pair across community knowledge and formal conservation training, which is the point of the paired structure - Choose the form of your own final output.
