CityHive is a youth-led Vancouver non-profit that works to get young people into civic decision-making, and it runs this programme for people who want to understand how local climate policy actually gets made. The second cohort runs with Vancouver Coastal Health and looks at where climate policy meets public health and transportation, across eleven in-person sessions from October to December 2026. It costs nothing, it is built for people with no policy background, and every session happens in person in Vancouver. **What you get:** - Eleven in-person sessions plus a community showcase event, run as a two month sprint, at no cost to you - Mentorship from industry professionals working in climate policy, plus guest speakers and project partners - A group project built around a real policy problem set by a community partner, presented for feedback and then iterated - Honoraria, which CityHive says are available for those who need them; no amount is published - Food, breaks and conversation at every session, and a cohort of other young people across Metro Vancouver - Portfolio, resume and skills material from taking a project from problem to public presentation **What you'll do:** - Module 1, Learn: explore climate action, local policy, and how change happens inside government and beyond it - Module 2, Investigate and Ideate: work a policy problem set by a community industry partner, and meet mentors about career pathways - Module 3, Apply and Take Action: present your project, take feedback, and iterate on it - Share Out: present the finished work to CityHive's partners and community allies at a December event - Spend 2 to 5 hours each week outside sessions on project work during the middle two modules **Key dates:** - Applications close September 20, 2026 at 11:59pm PT - Applicants can expect to hear back by early October 2026 - Sessions run October 8 to December 3, 2026 - Thursday sessions are 6:00pm to 8:30pm; select Saturday sessions are 10:00am to 3:00pm - Community showcase event December 8, 2026, time and location to be confirmed **More information:** - All sessions are in person in Vancouver, BC.
