Good to know

  • +Exceptionally well documented: firm deadline with time and timezone, a complete eligibility list, numbered how-to-apply steps, published evaluation criteria and downloadable forms
  • +Genuinely fully funded: return economy flights to the UK, a subsistence per diem, accommodation and association through All Souls College including meals without charge, a University Card, visa costs and logistical support
  • +Application is by email with no portal, no account and no fee
  • +Call materials are published in French and Spanish as well as English, which matters for a Caribbean applicant pool
  • +Only two fellowships are offered per year, so the award is meaningful

Worth checking yourself

  • !Not a youth opportunity in any ordinary sense. Applicants must hold a PhD or equivalent AND be fully employed by an academic institution based in the Caribbean
  • !An Oxford collaborator must already be secured before applying. Applications without a statement of support from an Oxford-based researcher will be disqualified, and the collaborator's form must arrive by the same deadline
  • !Health insurance is explicitly not covered
  • !Restricted by residency: applicants must be legal residents of a Caribbean country and must commit to return after the residency
  • !The deadline is close: 15 September 2026
