Brandtech AI For Good Scholarship

One Young World runs one of the largest annual gatherings of young leaders in the world. For 2026 the Summit lands in Cape Town from November 3 to 6, and AI is one of its five plenary challenges. The Brandtech Group is funding five scholarships to put young African AI builders in that room. This is not a scholarship for people with an AI idea. It is for people already running something. The selection looks for a track record of impact using AI against one or more of five pillars: sustainability and climate, education access and learning systems, countering misinformation and online harm, health access and mental wellbeing, and active citizen engagement. Applications from causes that do not map neatly onto a pillar are still considered if the work uses AI responsibly. Everything is covered: return flights, hotel in Cape Town from November 2 to 6, all meals, and ground transport between venues. Scholars also get access to Pencil AI, the One Young World Action Accelerator, mentor sessions, and lifelong membership of the Ambassador Community. Applications close August 2, 2026.   • Willing to engage with fellow scholars and with Brandtech Group staff at the Summit
  • Applications under 18 at the time of the Summit are not accepted. Candidates over 30 may be considered on the strength of personal impact.
