The True Blue Fellowship backs 12 young people a year who are using the creative arts to move people on ocean, waterway, and climate issues in their own communities. Bow Seat calls it an incubator for creative environmental leadership, and the shape of it is a year-long project rather than a course: you propose the project, you run it from January to December, and Bow Seat funds and coaches you through it. Each Fellow receives up to USD $2,500 in project funding, plus capacity-building workshops, monthly cohort meetings, and support from Bow Seat staff and the Future Blue Youth Council. The project has to use creative arts as its primary method for awareness or action, engage your local community rather than just speak at it, and produce a tangible outcome. Applications are open to young people worldwide, but the application and the cohort both run in English, and you need to be comfortable speaking it for peer collaboration.
