Good to know

+Up to $5,000 in project funding reaches you directly, to spend on your own peace or justice project rather than being spent on your behalf.
+Free to apply, and PeaceJam publishes the full question list and a programme brief before you start, so you can see exactly what you are committing to.
+Entirely virtual across nine monthly sessions from November to August, so there is no travel cost and no visa to arrange wherever you are.
+Applications are judged on the substance of your idea, not on polished English, which matters if you do not write in English first.
+PeaceJam has run since 1996 with fourteen Nobel Peace Laureates involved, and last year's fellows are named publicly so you can see who came before you.
+You get one to one coaching alongside the money, not just a payment.

Worth checking yourself

!PeaceJam gives two different closing dates. Their programme page says 28 September and the application form says 1 October. Apply by 28 September and you are safe either way.
!The $5,000 is described as a maximum on their website, so plan for the possibility of less.
!You need a peace, justice or equity project already under way. This funds work you have started, not an idea from scratch.
!No closing time is published, so treat the 28th as ending at midnight rather than leaving it to the final hours.
