The AU-EU Youth Action Lab is a European Union funded programme run by Oxfam, the European Youth Forum and Restless Development Uganda. Who can apply

  • Your organisation must be a non-profit operating as a Trust, Community Based Organisation (CBO), Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) or Civil Society Organisation (CSO) with a clear social mission
  • Your organisation must be youth-led: people aged 18 to 35 hold 100 percent of governance and primary decision making power, and more than 80 percent of those designing and carrying out activities are aged 18 to 35
  • Your project must be youth-led: 100 percent of the staff working on the project are aged 18 to 35
  • Your organisation must be legally registered in its country, hold an organisation bank account and have a clear governance structure
  • You must be located and registered in one of the twelve focus countries: Ethiopia, Kenya, Mozambique, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia (Somaliland region), Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, Zambia or Zimbabwe
  • Your proposed activities must take place in one or more of those twelve countries
  • You may apply for only one AU-EU Youth Action Lab grant type per call, so an organisation cannot apply for both the Innovation Grants and the Entrepreneurship Grants
  • An organisation already awarded a grant under this programme cannot reapply
  • Applications must use the compulsory budget template and be submitted in a single language: English, French or Portuguese
  • Grants are awarded at the full EUR 42,000 only; you cannot apply for more or less
