The Atlantic Fellows for Social and Economic Equity programme, based at the LSE International Inequalities Institute in London, is a funded, lifelong fellowship for activists, policymakers, researchers, artists and practitioners working against inequality. It runs on two tracks: a Residential track, where Fellows move to London for a full-time MSc in Inequalities and Social Science, and a Non-Residential track, where Fellows keep their jobs, attend four modules and deliver their own project for an LSE Postgraduate Certificate. Up to 18 Fellows are chosen each year, nine per track, and most come from the Global South. **What you get:** - Residential track: full tuition fees for the LSE MSc Inequalities and Social Science, travel to and from London at the start and end of the year, and all visa and immigration costs - Residential track: a £23,000 stipend for living costs in London - Non-Residential track: the cost of the LSE Postgraduate Certificate in Social and Economic Equity, travel, accommodation and visa fees for every module - Non-Residential track: a grant of up to £10,000 to carry out your fellowship project - A dedicated mentor on both tracks, plus Family Care Support and Hardship Funds, disability support, and a Connectivity Fund for Non-Residential Fellows - Reimbursement of an English language test if you need one to meet your offer conditions - Lifelong Senior Fellowship after the year, with coaching and access to funding, collaboration and learning opportunities across the seven Atlantic Fellows programmes **What you'll do:** - Residential: relocate to London and complete the full-time, 12-month MSc in Inequalities and Social Science at LSE, taking an extra course in Leadership and Social Change - Non-Residential: stay in your own work and give around five hours a week to reading, coursework and a fellowship project, such as a policy paper, practitioner handbook, podcast series, documentary or e-zine - Both tracks: attend all four AFSEE Modules, most of them in person in London, alongside the other track - Join monthly check-ins, webinars and online learning, and become a Senior Fellow at the end of the year **Key dates:** - Applications opened 7 October 2026 - Information webinar 19 October 2026 - Application tips webinar 16 November 2026 - Applications close 11 January 2027 at 5.00pm UK time - Interview invitations mid-March 2027 - Final decisions mid-April 2027 - 2027-28 cohort announced mid-July 2027 - LSE MSc start date for 2027/28: 27 September 2027 (Residential track) **More information:** - Full eligibility and selection criteria on the AFSEE selection and eligibility page - Answers on fees, references, transcripts and English requirements in the AFSEE FAQ - Questions to afsee@lse.ac.uk; application, transcript and reference questions to LSE Graduate Admissions
