Good to know

  • +Genuinely aimed at LOT's core age band: 21 local youth each year, aged 14 to 21, who have made a significant contribution to their local or global community
  • +Self-nomination is accepted, not just third-party nomination
  • +Established and credible: Youth Ottawa is a registered Canadian charity and the award is RBC-sponsored
  • +Documented downstream value: a 2021 recipient credits the award's visibility with winning a McCall MacBain scholarship at McGill

Worth checking yourself

  • !The closing date could not be confirmed on the organisation's own pages. This listing shows no deadline, which does not mean applications are open indefinitely. Check the official page before you plan around it.
  • !The record shows Rolling. Nominations for 2026 are closed and no new date is published, so a young person clicking through today cannot apply
  • !The stored apply URL is a Google Form that returns 401 and demands a Google account sign-in. Even when the round is open that link is gated and is not on the organisation's own domain
  • !Funding type on file says Fully Funded. No statement of any money to recipients appears on Youth Ottawa's pages. This is a recognition award, not a funded one
  • !Ottawa-area youth only
  • !It is a nomination process, not a conventional application, which changes what a young person has to prepare

What we could not confirm
