About this opportunity

Storytellers for Peace, an international network of storytellers founded in 2016, is inviting anyone aged 18 or over to send a short original video, no longer than two minutes, that tells a story about peace. Any genre works, from fiction and documentary to spoken word, animation or a story shot on a phone, and production quality is not the main criterion. You publish the video on your own YouTube channel and send the link, and selected stories are promoted through the network's website and channels.

What you get:

Selected videos may be featured on the Storytellers for Peace website and YouTube channel, and in its articles, playlists and presentations, credited to you with a link to your original video
Outstanding stories may receive the Storytellers for Peace Award, an honorary recognition with no cash prize
Authors of selected stories may be invited to join the international Storytellers for Peace Network and future projects
You keep ownership of your video and your channel

What you'll do:

Make or choose a video of up to two minutes telling a true or fictional story about peace
Upload it to your own YouTube channel, ideally set to Public
Complete the short submission form with the YouTube link and a few lines on your story and yourself

Key dates:

Open call launched 21 September 2026, International Day of Peace
Submissions close 1 December 2026 at 23:59 CET
The initiative leads towards 1 January 2027, World Day of Peace

Who can apply

Aged 18 or over at the time of submission
Open worldwide, with no restriction on nationality, citizenship or country of residence
Individuals or creative teams; the person submitting must be 18 or over
Video no longer than two minutes, on the theme of peace
Any language, with English subtitles if the video is not in English
Must be published on YouTube and stay available until selection is complete
Previously published videos are accepted if you hold all the rights, including music and footage
