One place to run an event instead of four tools

Anointed Oluwajemi Kayode and his team are building Chazon, an event platform that began as a WhatsApp channel on campus at the Federal University of Technology, Akure, and now gives organizers registration, reminders, check-in and analytics in one place, for free.

Someone books a venue, lines up a speaker and designs a flyer. Then, to take registrations, they open Google Forms, shorten the link with Bit.ly, track sign-ups in Google Sheets and send reminders from a separate tool. "Four tools just to do one thing," Anointed Oluwajemi Kayode says. At every handoff, he says, people drop off. On the day there is a printed list and someone ticking names by hand, and after it is over there is no data on who came or whether the event did what it was meant to.

That is what he and his team kept watching happen. Chazon is their answer.

“That's the problem we're solving. Not with advice. With infrastructure.”

Chazon gives organizers one place to do everything. Create an event and get a branded shareable link and a registration page with no ads. Attendees get automated reminders. At the door, QR code check-in replaces the paper list. Afterwards, an analytics dashboard shows registrations, attendance rate, drop-off points and performance. The platform also covers promotion and volunteer management, he says. "All of this, today, for free."

It started on campus at the Federal University of Technology, Akure, as a WhatsApp channel. "It worked faster than we expected," he says. Organizers began coming to the team asking to be listed because they saw it driving turnout. "But the model was always bigger than one campus."

The organizers Chazon is built for run conferences, workshops, bootcamps, networking nights and community events, and the team is now building for them beyond the campus where it began.
