A commerce magazine that reads like a coffee conversation
Alisha Nasim started Caffeinated Commerce as a blog in January 2026, and a team of 12 volunteers, picked from more than 115 applications across 24 countries, now runs it as an independent platform and publication.
Caffeinated Commerce began as a blog. Alisha Nasim started it in January 2026 to develop research and writing skills, and by March, she says, she was receiving emails from people asking to contribute and to join.
She now describes it as an independent platform and publication covering marketing, business and economics, with a motto of making commercial education more engaging and easier to understand, "just like conversations over coffee." It runs interviews with founders and entrepreneurs, and with students from top universities worldwide. There are print copies too. It has partnered with international NGOs, among them Heart Avenue Association, which is certified by the Ministry of Education in Peru, to distribute them across their network in the USA, Colombia, South Africa, Peru and Bahrain.
“Be creative and experiment, things don't need to be boring.”
Alisha Nasim
In The Zine Awards 2026, Caffeinated Commerce took 'Zine of the Year' and 'Rising Star Zine', two community voted awards. It also won the Rising Star Award in the zine category at the Digital Youth Creative Award 2026, for creativity, initiative and leadership.
The publication exists, she says, to give emerging voices a place to get published and "for the driven to contribute as part of the team." Underneath that is a plain position. "Because we feel that education should be accessible, and commerce shouldn't feel intimidating," she says.
Alisha is in high school. The team is now 12 volunteers, she says, selected from more than 115 applications across 24 countries, an acceptance rate of about 10 per cent.
